The Holidays Are Approaching and We Need to Talk About Your Lead Form

Believe it or not, fall is here and there is a good chance you are already starting to receive leads for holiday events. It’s also a great time of year to send out an email blast to your contacts and win some of that holiday business. I want to remind you of some Tripleseat tools you can use to get more leads today, so you don’t miss out on any business coming your way right now. Also, your future self will thank you when you can run a quick report on which of your marketing efforts were most fruitful in 2018 If you take one thing away from this, let it be that you need to put a link to your Tripleseat lead form in any email blast you send out. If you’re ending your marketing email with instructions to call you or send an email to inquire, you are going to lose prospects. There’s a good chance your prospects will forget to call back at a convenient time or simply say “I’ll email later.” If they can click on a link to your lead form, they can seamlessly submit their request, get a confirmation right away, and you can jump on the lead the minute it comes in. Do this by creating a hyperlink to the URL of your lead form and inserting it into your email blast. Now that that’s out of the way, let’s talk about taking things to the next level. Set up a separate lead form specifically for your holiday promotions so you can track how many of your leads came from that promotion. This is a two-step process: Step 1: Create a custom lead source Your reports allow you to group by lead source so you will be able to run reports on revenue and lead conversion from this specific source. Go to Settings > Preferences > Drop Downs and add a new field under Lead Source. Try “Holiday Promo 2018” Step 2: Create a new lead form just for holiday email blasts Go to Settings > Lead Forms > Create New. Name this one Holiday Lead Form and consider adding a banner image that reflects the holiday season. Scroll down to the bottom of the page where you can associate this lead form with a lead source. Your new “Holiday Promo 2018” lead source will be here. Every time a lead comes in from this form, it falls into this group for reporting. Step 3: Bonus step Market this lead form link anywhere you reach your customers. If you’re offering a discount or promotion for holiday events, you will be able to see which events are eligible based on the lead source (meaning those who responded to the lead form Holiday Lead Form). Of course this is a great way to promote holiday events, but you can use it all year long for any kind of marketing promotion you run. You can apply these same steps to tracking leads across social media or other platforms. How about a lead form specifically for your Instagram bio, LinkedIn, or The Knot profile? Knowing where your leads are coming from will help you focus your efforts on the most rewarding marketing tactics. Questions?
