During the last year, the EventUp blog has featured dozens of venues in restaurant spotlight posts, and we’ve enjoyed introducing our readers to these eateries and venues that are the perfect fit for all types of events.

1. Bodega Taqueria — Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.
We’ve said it before, but it bears repeating: There is no better mashup than taqueria and speakeasy.
Of course, this is no easy pair to come by, which is why we are eternally grateful to the founders of Bodega Taqueria y Tequila, Keith Menin and Jared Galbut as well as Culinary Director, Bernie Matz, for bringing this vision to life.
Bodega Taqueria y Tequila first opened its doors in 2015, right in the thick of things in Miami, just steps away from famed Lincoln Mall on 16th street. After a few successful years, Bodega Taqueria y Tequila is expanding to much fanfare, now bringing the party to downtown Fort Lauderdale.

2. Bodega Taqueria y Tequila — Miami
Who doesn’t love a good power couple? Beyoncé and Jay-Z. Barack and Michelle Obama. And now—thanks to Miami—we have another inspired power couple: the taqueria and the speakeasy.
Menin Hospitality’s masterminds Keith Menin and Jared Galbut have been delivering the powerful combination of tasty tacos and carefully-disguised watering holes since 2014 at South Beach’s Bodega Taqueria y Tequila.
Steps away from Lincoln Road on 16th Street, this venue is more than meets the eye and expertly transforms from day to night, the perfect venue for hosting a funky bodega brunch or extravagant evening.

3. Kiki on the River — Miami
Imagine strolling from downtown Miami and being transported to a tucked-away Greek island restaurant.
That’s the vision that Kiki on the River brings to life, right in downtown Miami, at the site of one of Miami’s original fish markets. Enjoy Miami’s best riverside patio with 150 feet of dock space and an authentic Mediterranean island-inspired dining room.

I think we can all agree that there are few things more delightful than an authentic, made-from-scratch Italian feast.
The wine will be flowing, the pasta will be plentiful, and the atmosphere will be incredibly welcoming. For us, this is the absolutely ideal setting for any celebration—big or small, with close friends or strangers who become friends by the end of the night.
