4 Summer Cocktails That Are Almost Too Beautiful to Drink

Summer brings a lot of great things for the hospitality industry: outdoor dining, new food menus, good energy, and of course, summer cocktails. And some of these summer cocktails are a feast for the eyes with their colorful palettes, creative containers, and bold garnishes.

We can multi-task though, and take an Instagram-worthy photo and drink the entire cocktail to get the best of both worlds. Take a look at this list of four summer cocktails that are almost too beautiful to drink.

1. Hotel Figueroa La Casita: The Reina

Summer in Los Angeles certainly revolves around being outdoors and enjoying refreshing summer cocktails with friends. That being said, if you’re in the Los Angeles vicinity, La Casita at Hotel Figueroa is a spot you want to add on your summer bucket list.

La Casita, a Spanish Mediterranean villa and lounge, offers delicious dishes like ceviche and grilled shrimp tacos, along with all sorts of stunning drinks. One of these drinks, pictured below, is the Reina, which includes prosecco, mango sorbet, and lemon zest, with various garnishes to add to the colorful drink. If the sorbet wouldn’t melt, we probably would just sit and stare at its beauty. As one of La Casita’s followers commented on the photo “this is a work of art,” and we could not agree more.

2. Swift and Sons Steakhouse: By Any Other Name

What makes a cocktail too beautiful to drink? Well, amazing color, texture, and presentation are three ways to start. The By Any Other Name cocktail made by Swift and Sons Steakhouse in Chicago certainly checks all three of these boxes.

This gorgeous cocktail is made of Tanqueray gin, pineapple, lemon, and a butterfly pea flower float. The multi-color purple and yellow look of the drink certainly will have guests asking your staff “What did that person order?” and pointing out this special drink. The crushed ice cubes also add a beautiful touch, making the cocktail look like it would be really refreshing for a warm summer dinner. It sounds like the best solution is to order a cocktail to take a photo, drink the cocktail, and then order another one.

3. Davio’s Restaurant: Chandon Garden Spritz

Sometimes all you really want is to drink a bubbly cocktail and feel a little fancy while doing so. Or is that just me? Well, we’re all in luck. Davio’s Restaurant in Foxborough and Lynnfield, Mass., is hosting two sommelier events next week where they will be serving the Chandon Garden Spritz pictured below.

This spritz is a blend of exceptional sparkling wine and unique bitters sourced from Argentina. A spritz in the summer is one thing, but an exclusive spritz available for one night only, is another. If you’re unable to attend the sommelier events on July 20 and 21, this photo can give you some inspiration into the bubbly cocktail you have been dreaming about.

4. Bostonia Public House: Ultimate Bostonia Bloody Mary

If you follow Bostonia Public House on Instagram or live in the Boston area, then you know one thing that Bostonia always thrives at: boozy brunch. Bostonia has an incredible bloody mary bar open on Saturdays and Sundays from 9 am to 3 pm and Monday mornings from 10 am to 3 pm.

The Ultimate Bostonia Bloody Mary comes with your choice of vodka or tequila, Bostonia housemade bloody mary mix, and one pass through the bloody mary bar. As you can see in the photo here, the bloody mary fixings range from shrimp to bacon, olives, donuts, and more. All your friends are sure to be jealous when they see the drink you’re enjoying at brunch this summer.
