Optimizing Menus and Forms with Meal Periods

In the realm of event planning and hospitality, every detail counts. From the ambiance to the decor, each aspect contributes to creating a memorable experience for guests. And now, a new Tripleseat feature is poised to enhance how venues classify their menus and streamline their operations: the concept of meal periods. In this blog post, we’ll delve into the significance of creating Meal Periods for your events and how they can enhance guest experiences and add value to your event planning.

What are Meal Periods?

Meal periods, in the context of event planning, refer to specific time frames within the day when certain menus are featured. Whether it’s breakfast, lunch, or dinner, these periods allow venues to offer appropriate menus at the right times. The value of meal periods becomes apparent in their ability to seamlessly guide guests toward selecting menus that match the timing of their event.

Meeting Venues’ Needs

Venues constantly seek ways to provide a tailored experience for their guests, and meal periods offer a strategic approach to doing just that. Imagine a scenario where a venue hosts a corporate breakfast meeting, a buffet luncheon, and an elegant evening gala all in a single day. With meal periods, these events can effortlessly have their menus classified so that they apply to the correct time of day. This ensures that venues are capturing the relevant information related to each meal period and are able to track and report on the revenue generated from their different meal periods.

TripleseatDirect: Time-specific Menus

Enter TripleseatDirect, a Tripleseat feature that bridges the gap between event planners, venues, and guests. With the release of meal periods into TripleseatDirect, the guest experience is elevated to a new level of convenience. When guests input their event’s start time, end time, pickup time, or delivery time, the system works its magic. Only the menus relevant to the selected meal periods appear, eliminating confusion and enhancing the user experience.

Simplifying Event Planning

Event planners often juggle multiple events with varying requirements. The introduction of meal periods simplifies the process of menu selection. In the newly added “Advanced Location Settings,” admins can define meal periods by day of the week, complete with start and end times. Furthermore, meal periods can be copied from one day to another or even assign group-wide defaults that automatically apply to all locations within a group. This feature empowers admins to create a coherent menu structure across different venues.

Tailored Flexibility

Recognizing the diverse needs of different locations, admins, and users with appropriate access can override group defaults for individual venues. This ensures that each venue can curate its menus according to its unique needs. Additionally, meal periods can be copied between locations, maintaining consistency while allowing for venue-specific adjustments.

Event Reporting

The implementation of meal periods can now be used on event and booking pages within Tripleseat. Users have the ability to select one or multiple meal periods for each event, when they are creating an event or converting a lead, setting up the event for better post-event reporting. Meal periods are now included as data points in the Event Details report as well as the TripleseatDirect Event Details report. This addition will enhance a venue’s ability to analyze event trends and revenue and make data-driven decisions.

As Tripleseat continues to evolve, innovations like meal periods pave the way for more seamless guest-facing experiences. The ability to offer carefully curated menus aligned with specific times of the day ensures that attendees’ expectations are met and exceeded. With Tripleseat’s release of meal periods, venues are better equipped to provide an elevated experience for their guests while streamlining their own operations.

We know every detail matters in event planning, and meal periods demonstrate that even seemingly small adjustments can create substantial positive impacts on your business. Whether it’s a standard breakfast meeting or a fancy dinner gala, meal periods usher in a new era of precision and personalization in event planning.
