Get Inspired by Four of the World’s Best Bars

Events are an important revenue source for your bar or nightclub, but how do you get potential customers to notice you and book your space?

Take a few tips from these four Tripleseat customers that have been listed on the World’s Best Bars list. Their venues, menus, and service have all made them stand out as must-visit spots around the globe.

1. Zuma — Dubai

The No. 17 bar on the list is an impressive space, with its gorgeous wood, well-lit shelves of spirits, and its prime location for people-watching in the venue. The drink menu includes a list of traditional cocktails, such as the Ginza boulevard and the Zuma highball, that invoke a Japanese flavor.

“The menu is split into several sections, using unique ingredients to create signatures or give classic cocktails a Japanese twist. The Kanjo menu — meaning emotions in Japanese — features cocktails such as Memory, with junmai ginjo sake, tequila, forest distillate and tonic, described as ‘a walk in a mossy forest, gently hammered by the sunlight after the rain.’ The Nomikai section features Japanese plays on Italian aperitivi, such as the Japanese Garibaldi, which adds yuzu cordial to the classic drink of Campari and cold-pressed orange juice,” according to the 50 Best Bars review.

For those seeking a more private space, Zuma Dubai’s private dining room — which hosts a solid oak wood dining table — can seat up to 20 guests, or can be split up into two spaces of 10 guests each.

2. Cafe La Trova — Miami

There’s so much going on at Cafe La Trova’s bar — No. 28 on the list — that it’s hard to know where to start. The venue is a celebration of the tastes and sounds of Cuba. The bartenders practice the cantinero style of mixing, which involves “throwing” drinks through the air from the shaker to the glass. Looking for classic Cuban drinks? Cafe La Trova has you covered with daiquiris, mojitos, and more.

“Handsomely uniformed bartenders still ‘throw’ classic drinks, like the Hotel Nacional, through the air from tin to glass. Daiquiri Clásicos and Periodistas are theatrically shaken. And, when the nightly live band strikes up, the cantineros behind the bar pull out maracas to provide backup percussion,” said the 50 Best Bars review.

The bar is the centerpiece of Cafe La Trova’s venue. Customers can book the 3,000 square foot space for small or large groups to enjoy anything from cocktail parties to banquets.

3. Red Frog — Lisbon, Portugal

Sure, there are plenty of speakeasy bars in the States, but you won’t find one like Red Frog unless you travel to Portugal. To enter the No. 67 bar on the list, you need to ring a bell underneath a red frog on the wall outside.

Step inside to a cozy space accented by mood lighting, candles, tables for two, a bar with a 1920s vibe, and the sounds of swing, jazz, and funk.

“Table service is par for the course at one of the low-slung, candle-lit tables, from which guests order up complex twists on classics, featuring surprising additions such as sea fennel in a gimlet and banana in a Negroni,” according to the 50 Best Bars Discovery review.

4. Sweet Liberty — Miami

No one leaves this Miami hot spot without having a good time. Sweet Liberty makes that promise with its motto — Pursue Happiness — in pink neon on the wall. No. 89 on the list has every possible combination of seating, including plenty of booths, tables for small groups, spots next to the action at the bar, and lounge areas, in a venue that’s filled with sunlight during the day and neon at night.

Sweet Liberty’s spirits menu is an incredible nine pages long. Their cocktail menu has a list of beach favorites like The Florida Cocktail (Bacardi añejo cuatro, fluffy pineapple, and crème de menthe), the classic Aperol Spritz, martinis, highballs, and happy hour specials.

“ … the Miami institution still has its comfortable, neighborhood feel, with the addition of a world-class cocktail menu and spirits collection that would make any aficionado’s jaw drop. Opening in time for happy hour and keeping the place merry till 5am, this is unquestionably the hardest working bar in Miami, and a regular on The World’s 50 Best Bars list,” said the 50 Best Bars Discovery review.
