EventCamp 2019: Reinventing Your Space

City Winery in Nashville hosts a variety of events — concerts, cocktail parties, private dining, and weddings. When Ryan Walters joined the venue as Private Events Director, she used her 13 years of operations, sales, and events experience to look at how they could increase their wedding bookings.

“I have a unique perspective on what works as far as the actual logistical side of things as well as taking a look at how you can take those practical applications and put them into the sales experience to really help your client get the best experience possible,” she said.

Walters looked at her competitors, market research, and the needs of bridal clients and realized that City Winery was missing one important piece to take their wedding bookings to the next level: a bridal suite. So she developed a five-step process to transform one of the private event rooms into a space that brides could use to prep, relax, and spend time with their bridesmaids in as part of their wedding day.

“It’s really just taking the thing that you need to be selling to your client and creating the most sellable product possible,” she said.

During this year’s EventCamp conference, Walters shared her five steps and other tips with her event professional peers so they could replicate the process and appeal to more clients at their venues. Watch her session, Reinventing Your Space, below:
