Cocktail of the Week: Spicy Mezcal Paloma

This delicious spin on the classic Mexican Paloma uses fresh grapefruit juice in place of grapefruit-flavored soda, and smoky mezcal in place of tequila. Finished off with fresh lime, fresh jalapeno slices, and a dash of honey, it’s the perfect balance of smoky, spicy, sweet, and tart.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 ounces mezcal
  • 1 1/2 ounces fresh grapefruit juice
  • 1/2 ounce fresh lime juice
  • 1-2 slices of fresh jalapeno
  • Dash of honey
  • Sliced grapefruit and jalapeno for garnish

Fill a rocks glass with ice. Fill a shaker with ice. Add mezcal, grapefruit juice, lime juice, 1-2 slices fresh jalapeno, and a dash of honey to shaker. Shake, shake, shake. Strain into the rocks glass filled with ice. Garnish with grapefruit and jalapeno slices. Enjoy!
